The Ministry of the Environment signs a memorandum of understanding on digital


Yesterday, the Ministry of Environment, Siemens Digital Industries Software, Cambodia Institute of Technology, Cambodian Academy of Digital Technology and Steaming Cambodia signed three MoUs at the Ministry of Environment.

The MoU on the use of “Siemens Xcelerator Platform” technologies will enable students to excel and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, industries and businesses, and organize a workforce with a digital mindset to turn ideas into facts and create technology solutions for the industry. 4.0.

Environment Minister Say Samal said this is a new start for Cambodia as it will help Cambodia facilitate the development of digital technology.

Samal added that in the next 10 years, Cambodia will be developed in digital technology. In the past, Cambodia needed help from foreigners, he said.

Alex Teo Swee Guan, Vice President and General Manager – Southeast Asia at Siemens Digital Industries Software, said the MoU is a good opportunity for Cambodia to build its capacity in digital technology.

The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Chea Vandeth, said that this cooperation will be an important element for the implementation of the digital talent training policy.

Digital technology and industry are priority sectors to build a digital economy that will contribute to the recovery and development of the Cambodian economy after the Covid-19 crisis,” Vandeth said.

He said that since the Covid-19 outbreak in Cambodia, the use of digital technology has grown in the public sector, the private sector and among the general population, especially students.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Environment and the three institutions will also address the lack of production skills and environmental issues.

Siemens is committed to providing software technology, resources, training materials and programs to the Ministry of the Environment to improve the quality of education and training internationally to promote the development of the next generation of human resources in Cambodia.
