VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / February 2, 2022 / AMPD Ventures Inc. (“AMPD” or the “Company”) (CSE:AMPD)(OTCQB:AMPDF)(FRA:2Q0), next-generation digital infrastructure provider, in partnership with Avcorp Industries Inc., Convergent Manufacturing Technologies and LlamaZOO Interactive Inc. is pleased to announce that the Digital Technology Supercluster Digital twin of the learning factory (LFDT) project has been extended and the scope broadened. The LFDT project was first announced in March 2019 and aims to apply digital twinning to the manufacturing process of aerospace components, creating “virtual reality versions” or digital twins of parts, processes and facilities. manufactured.
Previously, creating and finalizing designs for manufacturing facilities was an expensive process. The Learning Factory integrates the latest virtual technologies and exploits the AMPD high-performance computing platform, supplemented by Clarity software from LlamaZOO, enabling remote monitoring of facilities and equipment, layout planning, inspection and training. This allows users to virtually access and work within large-scale industrial production to create digital industrial tools.
“Aerospace manufacturing is another complex process that is now being simplified through advances in commercial technology and the power of data-driven collaboration with our partners,” said Charles Lavigne, President and CEO, LlamaZOO Interactive Inc.

“We are excited to see how these advancements have enabled efficiencies in training, maintenance, real-time monitoring and innovation for the LFDT project, and what this next step has in store for us.”
“It was a great advantage for Avcorp to collaborate and learn from our various digital technology partners within this project, because it might not have happened without this project, and it taught us a lot about what is possible,” said Mike Elvidge, Managing Director, Avcorp. “Until now, our method of evaluating workspaces and workflows was very manual and time-consuming, and could often be intrusive to the process and the shop floor. Being able to scan, visualize and track proposed and active processes allows us to experiment with ideas on how to improve and simulate the results to find and optimize solutions much faster.”
“Collaborative work with the various project partners within the LFDT project provided the basis that allowed us to develop a self-learning, data-driven digital twin that can accurately predict the future state of manufacturing complex composites. This new capability has the potential to revolutionize planning, process control and quality assurance in aerospace manufacturing. Plant-scale installations of this new predictive digital twin are planned for 2022 . ” Noted Göran Fernlund, President, Convergent Manufacturing Technologies.
“We are delighted to extend our investment in the Learning Factory Digital Twin project.” This project shows how digital solutions can solve some of the world’s biggest problems,” said Sue Paish, CEO of the Digital Supercluster. “We are honored to support this ambitious undertaking and excited to see how this innovation will advance aerospace manufacturing in Canada.”
“It is a great privilege to continue our work with our project partners within the Digital Supercluster. By providing this digital twin technology to Canadian manufacturers, we will enable engineers to achieve the highest level of efficiency in the manufacturing process,” said Anthony Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of AMPD Ventures.
